What is an automobile glass endorsement or glass waiver?

By law ARS 20-264, Arizona is one of the few states that are mandated to an offer separate automobile glass endorsement or glass waiver with any comprehensive insurance policy. Typically, a glass waiver or endorsement is offered at a low premium cost (regulated by the Arizona Department of Insurance) such as $5 to $15 extra a month. What this means is that you can have a comprehensive deductible of say $250 or $500 and have a glass endorsement with a deductible of $0. So, any auto glass replacement including windshields would cost you nothing. In addition, if you use Chandler Auto Glass we will pay you $50 dollars at the time of service. So really, having the added glass endorsement on your policy can pay for itself after just one windshield replacement with us.

Can my insurance company raise my rates for filing an auto glass claim?

Arizona law ARS 20-263, states that Arizona insurance companies cannot raise your rates for any comprehensive claims that you did not cause or were not your fault which includes auto glass and windshield replacements.  Therefore, if your car glass got broken or vandalized and you were not at “fault” than your insurance company cannot raise your rates.

How do I know if I have comprehensive auto glass insurance coverage?

Typically, individuals will carry comprehensive insurance coverage on their policy when their car is leased or they are still making payments to the bank for their automobile. Often individuals that own older cars and have already paid off their car loans will only carry liability insurance for a lower premium cost. Check your own auto insurance policy for more detailed coverage information.

Your insurance company will make you pay for your current broken glass and prove to them that you had it replaced then they will pay for any additional occurrences if you added the glass endorsement.  Chandler Auto Glass offers the best,  free, no obligation, low-cost car windshield replacement prices in the industry.

Do insurance companies cover car windshield chip repair costs?

Most companies would rather waive the deductible and have the auto glass repaired rather than have it replaced since the cost is considerably less for a repair. Therefore, if you carry a comprehensive insurance policy regardless if you have a auto glass waiver or glass endorsement on your policy, most insurance companies will cover the full cost of the repair. So, if you have comprehensive coverage with a $500 deductible and your windshield is in repairable condition (up to 6 inches with insurance) than your insurance company will waive your deductible if the repair is successful. State Farm is the only insurance company (now) that requires you to have the glass waiver or endorsement on your policy for them to cover the cost of the windshield chip repair.

Are there any special offerings for claims of windshield replacement with my automobile insurance?

Yes. We give instant cash back of $50 with any claim of windshield automobile insurance. If you have a comprehensive policy which gives you coverage for full glass then we will give you CASH $50 during the service itself. You do not have to wait; the cash is yours immediately after the completion of the job.

With your windshield replacement insurance program of $50 cash-back, is my insurance company up-charged?

Definitely not. We respect an honor the contract pricing of all insurers and hence there will not be any costs out-of-pocket for your insurer or you.

Will my insurer cover the original manufacturer equipment Factory/OEM windshield?

Sometimes it is possible. Certain insurance companies, will cover factory or OEM windshield replacement requests for current year cars minus one or two years. What this means is that if the current year is 2011 the coverage will be from 2009 to 2011. In any case Chandler Auto Glass will attempt to get it covered from your insurance carrier or otherwise give you all your alternative options.

My agent told me that I could avail any auto glass shop and should just make sure that they are a member of Safelite Solutions or LYNX Services?

That is ideal, as we proudly state that we have membership for both Safelite Solutions and LYNX Services. However, by AZ State Law, you have the right to choose any auto glass repair shop of your choice.

For my glass installation can I select any shop for auto glass replacement?

Yes. As per State Law 20-469 of Arizona you can rightfully select any auto glass repair service for glass, for the loss or repair of the glass of your motor vehicle. Actually even when your insurer or insurance agent is referring you to a shop for glass repair, they have an obligation by this law to mention that you are free to choose any repair facility of Auto Glass, and get the services of anyone you wish.

What happens when my agent or insurance company is recommending me their “preferred” company for auto glass replacement?

You need to remember that by law you have every right to select the repair facility of Auto Glass that you desire. Usually the agent or insurer will have a “financial affiliation” with their “preferred” auto glass repair shop and are  receiving benefits in the form of kickbacks, gift cards, lunches and discounts, and not you. We on the other hand have a clean and open policy and respect and accept every insurance company, honor their pricing, do not up-charge and also provide a lifetime warranty nationwide. The difference here is, YOU get all the benefits and we charge your insurance the same rates as the “preferred” auto glass repair shops. This is a win-win situation for you and your insurance.

When I check my deductible or when I inquire about a claim of auto glass replacement, will that cause my rates to be raised?

No. When you inquire from your insurance company about the coverage they provide then it usually is not taken to be a claim. Regardless, insurance companies cannot raise your rates by Arizona State Law due to broken auto glass claims.

What happens when I have got only liability coverage?

This will only cover the damage which is caused to the other automobile, and so such a policy will not have coverage for your glass. But here too, Chandler Auto Glass will help you out, as we have the most competitive rates and accept all major debit and credit cards.

Is there a possibility of having my deductible waived by my insurance company if I get it repaired and not replaced?

There is a good chance as quite a few insurance companies forego deductibles and pay for the full auto glass repair. For instance if you have a comprehensive deductible of $50 to $1000, and the windshield is repairable then your insurance carrier will cover the full cost of a windshield chip repair. You will find an exception to this practice, when you consider the company policy of State Farm. This insurance provider will only cover the repair cost, if your policy has a auto glass endorsement.

What if my insurance deductible is high?

When you have$250 or above as your deductible then usually the cost of  a new Auto Glass  will be lower than that amount. In such a case it is advisable to pay the amount yourself rather than make a claim on your insurance. So get a free instant auto glass repair quote online and remember we accept all the main debit and credit cards.

Are you aware that as per Arizona law ARS 20-264, the policyholder should be given an option of auto glass coverage in full without a deductible?

What this means is, you have a choice of paying a small premium and purchasing coverage for auto glass coverage with no deductible. Usually the additional cost will be only between $5 to 15 every month and is quite worth it. Luckily among the states, Arizona is one of the few which offers this type of coverage.

If I have comprehensive coverage what type of glass is covered by my insurance company?

Usually all types of glass is covered with comprehensive coverage by many insurers and they include the back glasses, quarter glasses, vent glasses, door glasses, windshields and even mirrors are covered sometimes.

Can my insurance provider require me to repair my automobile windshield rather than have it replaced?

No, they cannot force you, but they will prefer you repair as the repairing will save time and money and also keep the original seal of the factory intact. When the size of the repair of the windshield is less than a dollar bill, it is strongly recommended by the insurance company to have it repaired and not replaced. However, keep in mind that windshield chip repairs are not a cosmetic fix. They may stop the break from spreading but they will never make the impact fully disappear. Learn more about the windshield repair process now.

Will my insurer want to make an inspection of the damaged car windshield before you do the installation?

Some of the insurance companies do want to, and a few of them require an inspection done randomly before they authorize the automotive windshield repair shop to go ahead with their work.  If your inspection is randomly chosen then the company sends an insurance inspector/adjuster to verify the location of the break on the windshield and the extent of  damage to the glass (how large the break is). Once the verification is complete we will then be  authorized to proceed with the work. The only problem is that this could delay the installation or repair of your auto glass.

What details will the insurance company ask when I make an auto glass claim?

The insurance company will do a verification of your identity, collect information about the claim, do coverage verification and then give authorization to the glass repair shop that you have selected to get the work done.

How much time is spent in this phone call to report an auto glass insurance claim?

Usually the full process should not take more than a 15 minutes. Be sure to have your policy number ready when calling. Or, you can file your auto glass repair claim online with us now! For a list of frequently asked questions from your insurance company while filing a auto glass claim see our auto glass program page.

What happens when there is a deductible on my car insurance policy?

First you need to make sure that the representative of the insurance company should not confuse the coverage on glass with collision or comprehensive coverage. Most losses in Arizona of auto glass are covered by comprehensive when you are not claiming any other damage. You could have zero deductible on glass and a  $250 deductible under comprehensive/collision on your comprehensive auto insurance policy.

When you have a deductible which is high as $250 then the cost of auto glass replacement could be lower.  If your cost is going to be less than the deductible, then it advisable that you do not make a insurance claim. This also helps in “saving” a claim from appearing on your insurance policy.

If your deductible is up to $50 we can waive it for you, but more than this we cannot provide any promotions or specials.

You should know that most of the major insurance providers provide auto glass coverage at very reasonable cost and it is likely the many policy holders in Arizona have this on their policy and not even know that they are carrying this coverage.

My window has a tint which is aftermarket, will my insurance company pay to have this replaced?
